Miami Metro Zoo is a zoo different to most others around the world. Miami’s steady warm climate allows the zoo to keep a wide variety of animals from Asia, Australia and Africa. The Metro Zoo is a free-range zoos, entirely cageless giving it a safari feeling. The trees, foliage and even soil mimic as closely as possible the native habitat of the animals.

You can also see white tigers, Cuban crocodiles and a komodo dragon, and even an elephant who will paint a piece of elephant art live! There are 300 acres of animal exhibits to see, on 740 acres of zoo property so if that walking prospect scares you, there are two- or four-seat bicycle carriages at the entrance for you to rent.The zoo is open 9:30 – 5:30 daily and costs $15.95 for adults, $11.95 for children ages 3-12. The zoo is located at 152nd Street and 124th Avenue.

Everglades National Park is 1.5 million acres of swamps, saw-grass prairies and sub-tropical jungles. This park is like no other is home to 14 rare and endangered species, including the American Crocodile, the Florida Panther and the West Indian Manatee. You can walk, camp and even canoe through the flat waters known as “the river of grass.”  The park was declared a world heritage site in 1979 by UNESCO because of its history and its multitudes of different flora and fauna.

Coral Castle, located in Homested is over 1,100 tons of carved coral rock known as Rock Gate. The Castle is worth a visit while in Miami. View the massive chunks of coral rock with on the 30-minute audio tour, offered in English, Spanish, French or German. Admission to the Coral Castle is $9.75 for adults and $5 for children.

Miami is full of amazing beaches with many to choose from. Haulover Beach is located on Miami Beach between Sunny Isles Beach and Bal Harbour, and is a nudist beach with clothing optional. The nudist areas are clearly marked and if nudity is not your thing, turning your back in Haulover will have you at a fantastic surfing spot.

Virginia Key Beach is located right off the Rickenbacker Causeway near the Miami Seaquarium. South Beach is the unsurpassed Miami Beach experience. Here you will see many gym muscle men and women who want to show off their efforts! South Beach allows topless bathing but nudity is not allowed. The beach is located on Ocean Drive, across the street from many of Miami Beach’s famous nightclubs.

Miami Seaquarium is a great place to visit in Miami for an entertaining and educational experience. Miami’s climate allows for year-round outdoor marine shows featuring dolphins, killer whales and other sea creatures. You can also see sea turtles, seals, and sea lions. Admission is $29.95 for adults and $22.95 for children. Exhibition shows include the trained dolphin show and Lolita the Killer Whale show. The Seaquarium is located on the Rickenbacker Causeway between Downtown Miami and Key Biscayne.
